Here's a gourmet croque-monsieur recipe that's full of flavor and easy to prepare that you're sure to love. An ideal dish for a quick but delicious dinner!
INGREDIENTS
- 2 tbsp. organic virgin coconut oil
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1 cup of soy beverage or milk
- 4 slices of whole wheat bread
- 4 slices of ham or substitute
- 2 tbsp. organic Dijon mustard
- 4 slices of tomato
- A dozen sliced black olives
- ½ cup grated Gruyere cheese
- Fine grey sea salt Maison Orphée, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
PREPARATION
- Over medium heat, melt coconut oil. Add flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually add the soy beverage and stir constantly to avoid lumps. Bring to a boil to create a smooth béchamel.
- Meanwhile, toast the bread.
- Place slices of toast on a baking sheet and brush with mustard. Add ham, tomato and olives.
- Top with béchamel sauce and season to taste.
- Sprinkle with grated cheese and place under the broiler for a few minutes to brown. Serve with a green salad.
