Add a burst of brightness to your carrot cake with this smooth and fragrant orange frosting. Its velvety texture and delicately tangy flavour beautifully enhance the warm notes of the cake.
Spread generously over the cooled cake, or use it to fill each layer. Guaranteed success in every bite!
INGREDIENTS
For the carrot cake
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) Maison Orphée Perfect Oil TM (or any oil of your choice)
- 180 ml (3/4 cup) milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 bag Maison Orphée Carrot Cake Mix
Pour le crémage à l'orange
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) sugar
- Freshly grated zest of one orange
- 250 g cold cream cheese
- 180 ml (3/4 cup) cold 35% whipping cream
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the carrot cake mix according to the package instructions. Pour the batter into your chosen pan (see note). Bake as directed, adjusting for the pan size. Let the cake cool completely before frosting.
- Meanwhile, in a bowl, beat the sugar, orange zest, and cream cheese with an electric mixer for 1 minute, until smooth. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to fully incorporate the ingredients.
- Add the whipping cream and beat until the mixture is firm and fluffy.
- Spread the orange frosting over the cooled cake.
- Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator.
Note
This cake can be made in various formats: a loaf pan, a 20 cm (8-inch) springform pan, or muffin tins.
