Made with our Chocolate Cake Mix, this dessert combines simplicity and sophistication. Its soft, moist texture and rich cocoa flavour create the perfect base for a silky ganache delicately infused with warm spices. Each bite offers a subtle balance of sweetness and spice, delivering a gourmet experience that’s anything but ordinary.
INGREDIENTS
For the chocolate cake
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) Maison Orphée Perfect Oil TM (or any other oil of your choice)
- 180 ml (3/4 cup) milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 bag of Maison Orphée Chocolate Cake Mix
For the olive oil ganache
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) 35% cream
- 1 star anise
- A pinch of ground nutmeg
- A pinch of ground cinnamon
- 170 g dark chocolate (65 to 72%), chopped
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) Maison Orphée Extra Virgin Olive Oil Delicate
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) water
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package instructions. Pour the batter into your preferred cake pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely before decorating.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, heat the cream with the spices. Remove from heat and let steep for 2–3 minutes.
- Bring the cream back to a boil, then strain it over the chopped chocolate. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth.
- Add the olive oil and water, and mix until the ganache is silky and uniform. Let cool for about 30 minutes, or until it reaches a spreadable consistency.
- Frost the cake and enjoy!
