INGREDIENTS

  • 375 ml (1 1/2 cups) warm water
  • 7 g (2 tsp) instant yeast
  • 1 bag of Maison Orphée Focaccia Mix
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) Maison Orphée Extra Virgin Olive Oil, plus more for spreading
  • 100 g (3/4 cup) black olives, pitted and halved


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 °C (425 °F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Follow the initial preparation steps on the focaccia mix package. After the first rise, roll the dough out thinly on a lightly floured surface. Sprinkle with olives, then fold the dough over itself a few times to incorporate them well.

  3. Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet, cover, and let rest for 5 minutes.

  4. Roll the dough out slightly into a disk about 20 cm (8 in) in diameter. Make 5 or 6 slits in the dough and gently pull them apart to shape the fougasse. Drizzle with a bit of olive oil. Cover and let rise for 40 minutes, or until the dough has doubled in size.

  5. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the fougasse is nicely golden. Let cool slightly.
  6. Enjoy with cheese!
