A good workout clearly builds an appetite, but no one wants to ruin the benefits of their last session. For Gab and Rany, it's time to fill up on energy and nutrients with a delicious recipe.
Do as they do and prepare the elements ahead of time! All you have to do is heat up the falafel in the oven for a few minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit and assemble your bowl to your heart's content.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 package of 170 grams of commercial falafel mix
- Zest of 1 lemon well washed and dried
- 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh mint leaves
- 3 tbsp Maison Orphées Perfect Oil TM
- 2 to 3 cups of your choice of chopped vegetables (e.g. tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, avocado, fennel, broccoli, cauliflower, cooked beet, grated carrot, kale microgreens)
- 1 cup of cooked starch (couscous, quinoa, brown rice) (optional)
- Pita chips or croutons for crunch (optional)
- Fresh mint for garnish (optional)
PREPARATION
- Prepare the falafel mixture according to the instructions on the package; by reducing the amount of water, they will remain intact during the cooking process.
- Add lemon zest and mint and mix well.
- Brush a thin layer of The Perfect Oil TM on the grid of your air fryer.
- Shape 9 to 12 falafels by lightly coating your palms with The Perfect Oil TM.
- Place the falafels in your air fryer basket and bake for 18-20 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit or until golden brown and crispy on the outside (time may vary by model).
