Fall is in full swing and for the occasion, here is a recipe for a unique and decadent croustade by Libre de manger.
The combination of peaches, chai spices and our hazelnut oil create the perfect fall treat to enjoy at breakfast with yogurt or for dessert with a scoop of ice cream!
Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS
- 8 to 10 peaches (depending on size), sliced
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
Crumble
- 1 cup quick cooking oats
- 1 cup large flake oats (or quick cooking oats)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- ½ tsp. ground ginger
- ¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp. ground cloves
- ¼ tsp. ground cardamom
- Pinch of salt
- ⅓ cup Hazelnut oil
- ⅓ cup maple syrup
- ½ cup hazelnuts, coarsely chopped
PREPARATION
- Preheat oven to 350°F. In a lightly oiled 9" x 13" rectangular pan (or square pan, but an additional 5-10 minutes of baking time may be needed), evenly toss peach slices with cornstarch and brown sugar.
- In a bowl, combine oats, flour, chai spices and salt. Add hazelnut oil and maple syrup and mix until moist and uniform. Add the chopped hazelnuts and mix.
- Spread crumble evenly over peaches and bake for 40-45 minutes. Enjoy as is, with yogurt or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Note: You can replace the peaches with diced apples.
