WHAT IS APPLE CIDER VINEGAR?

You certainly know apple juice and apple cider. Well, apple cider vinegar is also derived from apples. Our cider vinegar is made from organic apple juice fermented twice. The first fermentation transforms the apple juice into alcoholic cider. The yeasts transform the sugar into alcohol. Then, the action of bacteria transforms the alcohol into acetic acid. The cider vinegar keeps the sweet taste so appreciated by the apple juice. However, the sugar is transformed thanks to the double fermentation into acetic acid, which gives the vinegar its acidic taste and slightly pungent smell.

We favour unfiltered and unpasteurized organic apple cider vinegar as it ensures that it retains all of its benefits. If you see "with the mother" written on the label, it's even better. It is within the "mother", which is what gives vinegar its naturally cloudy aspect, that we find the greatest share of enzymes, minerals and nutrients. Always shake your vinegar well to spread the "mother" equally. Not only will you look like a professional mixologist, but you will also ensure you fully enjoy the benefits of apple cider vinegar.

THE BENEFITS

Now that you know what apple cider vinegar is, you're probably wondering why so many people believe in its incredible "powers". Apple cider vinegar has been used for hundreds of years to, for example, improve appetite and facilitate digestion. It is for that reason that it is often recommended to start a meal with vinegar seasoned raw vegetables and to serve a light green salad at the end of a meal to help with digestion. Here are some of the benefits that amateurs of this product promote. We focus on the health benefits of consuming vinegar, but there are many more. There are also many beauty-focused uses for apple cider vinegar that you can discover if you do some research.

SUPPORTS THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM

If you have some digestion problems, like gastric reflux or constipation, consuming apple cider vinegar diluted in warm water 30 minutes before your meals might assist you greatly. This beverage will help stimulate your digestion and restore your intestinal flora. Indeed, the good bacteria present in apple cider vinegar will remain in the digestive tract which can help rejuvenate and balance intestinal flora.

REGULATES GLYCAEMIA

Several studies conducted on patients with type 2 or pre-diabetic diabetes have come to the same conclusion: cider vinegar could help keep blood sugar levels in balance. In the different studies, subjects consumed a drink containing cider vinegar and water before eating or before going to bed. The results of these studies showed that subjects who consumed this drink had a significantly lower increase in blood sugar than subjects who did not consume this drink.

This does not mean that you should stop your medication if you have this kind of illness. However, it may help you manage your blood glucose levels.

Even if you don't suffer from diabetes, think about high-carbohydrate meals. By drinking this beverage before your meal, you'll help your body control its blood sugar levels.

ANTISEPTIC PROPERTIES

Particularly in winter, but throughout the entire year too, viruses abound. Just think how quickly we catch colds, flus or get simple sore throats. Apple cider vinegar has antiseptic properties that can assist you in getting rid of these wintery inconveniences or prevent them altogether.

If you have a sore throat, pour 4 teaspoons of cider vinegar into a large glass of hot water and use this mixture as a gargle up to 4 times a day. Before going to bed, you can also consume one teaspoon of cider vinegar mixed with the same amount of unpasteurized honey.

If you have a cold or a flu, you can mix 2 tablespoons of unpasteurized honey in a ¼ cup (65ml) of apple cider vinegar. Drink 1 tablespoon of the beverage every 4 hours. You can also always mix this tablespoon with warm water, lemon and ginger.

COMPENSATES FOR THE LOSS OF ELECTROLYTES

Cider vinegar is recognized as an important source of mineral salts such as calcium, phosphorus, sulfur, silica, iron and fluorine. When you are sick and often go to the bathroom, or when you sweat a lot because you practice sports, you lose mineral salts. It is important to eat foods rich in these nutrients to recover them. Adding cider vinegar to honey and sodium-rich water will help your body recover faster.
